NOTICE is hereby given that from 14 July 2009 to 10 August 2009, between 9.00am and 4.30pm, any persons interested may inspect and make copies of the accounts of the above named Authority, for the year ended 31 March 2009 and all related books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, and receipts. The accounts and other documents will be available for inspection at the offices at which they are normally kept, or otherwise by arrangement. Application should be made initially to the Chief Finance Officer, Police Headquarters, Newby Wiske, Northallerton, North Yorkshire DL7 9HA.
NOTICE is also given that on or after 11 August 2009 until the completion of the audit, the auditors, the Audit Commission, Littlemoor House, Littlemoor, Eckington, Sheffield S21 4EF, at the request of a local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate, will give the elector or his representative an opportunity to question them about the accounts and that any such elector or his representative may attend before the auditors and make objections to any matter in respect of which the auditors could take action under Section 17 of the Audit Commission Act 1998 (namely an unlawful item of account) or could make a report in the public interest under Section 8 of that Act.
The auditors will receive questions between 10am and 4pm on 11 August 2009, or thereafter, until completion of the audit, at Police Headquarters, Newby Wiske, Northallerton, North Yorkshire DL7 9HA, to whom requests for this purpose should be addressed. No objections may be made unless the auditors have previously received a written notice of the proposed objection and the grounds. A copy of the written notice must be sent at the same time to the Authority at the address below.
